Who am I?

My name is Mihir Karandikar. I'm from Pune, India. I grew up in a traditional Marathi household.

I strive for simplicity. It's hard to attain, but it is immensly beautiful. I bring order amidst chaos. I have an insatiable hunger to solve real world problems. I leave my surroundings better than they were ✨

Computers & me

My first computer was a Windows 98 PC running on an Intel Pentium III chip.

I wrote my first piece of code in Logo in 4th grade. The feeling of being able to push pixels around was unreal! Cut to 7th grade - QBasic. And my first live app was written in Visual Basic and Microsoft Access 🤓

Exploring new places has been one of the fondest memories of my life. And I wish to roam around the world. How? I don't know.

I've climbed the Himalayas twice. Completed many local treks and casual hikes. Been to Singapore once. Travelled to Kokan and Goa several dozen times. Then there's Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Cycling is therapy to me. It helps me unwind and brings in new thoughts. Everyone should get a bicycle.

“When your legs scream stop and your lungs are bursting, that’s when it starts. That’s the hurt locker. Riders love it in there”

– Chris McCormack

My mother instilled the habit of reading in me. She'd read me Marathi novels and gifted me a magazine subscription akin to Reader's Digest that got me hooked.

I read to challenge my beliefs. Every book I finish, leaves me with a new way of thinking.
